Pattaya‘s picturesque island of Koh Larn is proving to be a success with tourists this month, with over a hundred thirty,000 vacationers flocking to the island. Officials count on this number to rise as Chinese vacationers begin to return to the realm.
Pattaya Deputy Mayor Manote Nongyai said on Wednesday, March 15, that Koh Larn saw an average of 10,000 visitors per day in the first two weeks of March. Jackpot noted that 70% of these vacationers were Thai, with the two largest foreign groups being Russians and Indians.
Despite the positive influence on Pattaya’s tourism industry, Deputy Mayor Nongyai stated that the island is not but equipped to handle a big overnight crowd. While many visitors come for day trips, there usually are not sufficient lodging or infrastructure to help a big in a single day influx.
Pattaya has been working to improve Koh Larn’s infrastructure, together with its roads and piers, in latest times, Pattaya Mail reported. However, the island’s water, electricity, and waste-disposal systems are still insufficient, presenting a challenge as tourism numbers proceed to rise.
Despite these challenges, Manote stated the push of vacationers to Koh Larn is sweet for Pattaya’s tourism trade.
